Joint Meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council, Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council

A joint meeting of Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti -Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) and Provincial Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) held at the Legislative Bldg. Davao Occidental Capitol earlier today. It was presided over by Atty. Geoffrey Navarra Jr., Provincial Administrator, Ms. Cristina Amoy, OIC-Provincial Director, DILG-PO and Governor Atty. Franklin P. Bautista.

The PDRRMO head, Mr. Harry Chester Camaro, provided an overview of the recent flooding, including the severely affected areas and the actions taken for retrieval, relief and clearing operations. Municipal DRRMO’s heads also presented their individual reports: Ms. Marlou Ompod from Malita, Ms. July Marie Doria from Don Marcelino, Geol. Ariel Austin Acosta, PhD, from Jose Abad Santos and Mr. Jesmar Magallanes, the MDRRMO Head-Designate of Sta. Maria.

PLTCOL Jacqueline Antero provided an update on the overall crime situation for the 4th Quarter of 2024, emphasizing operational achievements and notable initiatives. Additionally, IAV Rey Pavillar, MPA, Provincial Officer of PDEA-DOCPO, shared updates on the accomplishments and progress of the Drug Clearing Operations within the province.

The meeting was also attended by representatives from the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Coast Guard, Provincial Heads of Office, and other council members. Mayor Jason John Joyce of Jose Abad Santos, Mayor Michael Maruya of Don Marcelino and Mayor Adelan De Arce of Sarangani were also present.

This meeting aimed to enhance collaborative efforts in ensuring the safety and security of the community with a particular focus on preparedness and preventive measures.
