The Department of Interior and Local Government conducted the Barangay Newly-Elected Officials (BNEO) Training towards Grassroots Renewal and Empowerment for Accountable and Transparent (GREAT) Barangays Training to the newly elected barangay officials of the Municipality of Malita. This was held last February 26 to 28 at the Ritz Garden Hotel at Garden Oases of Davao City.
Key message from the Provincial Governor, Atty. Franklin P. Bautista, was delivered by Board Member, Hon. Brett L. Bautista. Also present is Malita Vice Mayor Hon. Estefanie Bautista-Dumama and FABC President, Hon. Bianca Ricci Bautista-Navarra.
The BNEO Training towards GREAT Barangays is a term-based capacity program for barangay officials. It is designed in recognition of the extensive role of the barangays in delivering basic services to their constituents, and at the same time, acting as the link between the national government and the people. Other BNEO Training were also conducted separately for the municipalities of Sta. Maria, Don Marcelino, Jose Abad Santos and Sarangani.
The success of the BNEO Training is not possible without the support of the Provincial Vice Governor, Hon. Lorna Bautista-Bandigan, Congressman Hon. Claude P. Bautista, different provincial department offices, national government agencies, municipality mayors, vice mayors and other officials.
