February 2, 2020- Sec. William Dar of the Dept of Agriculture together with Regional Director Bong Oñate visited Don Marcelino, the identified virus’ ASF ground zero and conducted meeting with local officials to discuss mitigating measures to contain the spread of virus in Davao Occidental. He commended the immediate action of Gov Claude Bautista for his directive on the temporary but complete lockdown of the movement of swine in and out of Davao Occidental and the sale and distribution of pork meat and its products provincewide. A memorandum circular was also issued by the governor to establish quarantine zones at the entry and exit points in Davao Occidental and culling of all swine in the affected areas
