The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) mandates every Local Government Unit (LGUs) to organize their respective Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC). This multi-sectoral council is responsible for the formulation of plans and implementation of local anti-drug abuse programs, projects and activities. These also embody the Government’s commitment to eradicate the country’s drug problem.
Last April 12, 2024, DILG Davao Occidental, in cooperation with the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), conducted the 2024 Provincial Performance Audit, in which the Municipalities of Sta. Maria, Malita, Don Marcelino, Jose Abad Santos and Sarangani, garnered the highest rating of 100% (HIGH FUNCTIONAL) performance.
This distinct recognition encapsulates our governmentโs preventive measures in safeguarding our citizenry from the harmful effects of drug use. This commendation is also a proof of united efforts and unique strategies set forth by the provincial government, LGU Officials, police force and other stakeholders.
