The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council convened for an emergency meeting with the Honorable Governor Atty Franklin P. Bautista, also council chairperson, to assess the extent of the damages made by the recent heavy rain and flooding. Mayor Adelan de Arce of the Municipality of Sarangani was also present whose municipality was also heavily hit by the calamity.
Situation reports and Actions Taken were discussed by the PDRRM Head Mr. Harry Chester Camorro, followed by MDRRM Officers from the 5 municipalities.
Moreover, Dr. Anne Margaux Bautista-Quezada, the Provincial Health Officer, presented her comprehensive report on the health situation during and after the calamity. Ms. Esterlita Hermosisima, head of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development cascaded the ongoing management of the families displaced and affected by the flood. Furthermore, Ms. Nally Bangoy, the Provincial Agriculturist, also presented the extent of damage on agricultural land, agricultural products, farmers and fisherfolks.
One of the invited guests to the said council meeting was DPWH Office of the District Engineer, OIC Engr. Rodrigo Larete, to address queries and concerns on damaged national roads and bridges. Also present were officers from Malita Power Plant.
